A City of Whispers: Chapter 7 The sun began to paint a hazy trail of oranges and pinks on the horizon as another day dawned on the Poor Quarter. Hidden away somewhere deep in a maze of broken down tenement buildings and rat-infested alleyways sat a ramshackle, old building with boarded up windows. Narrow streams of light flitted through the mismatched boards, revealing a sparsely furnished slum building. The floor of the building had been roughly carpeted with sackcloth, deeply entrenched stains showing through the brown material.
